The Smallest Jellyfish.

Updated: Mar 29, 2019

The smallest jellyfish in the world is the Irukandji jellyfish. The Irukandji jellyfish's bell is 5 to 25 millimeters long and the tentacles can range from a few centimeters to a meter long. Irukandji jellyfish are in the box jellyfish family, so they are not really jellyfish but close relatives. Irukandji jellyfish usually live in northern and western Australian waters. These small relatives of the jellyfish family are extremely deadly and actively hunt prey. Although the Irukandji jellyfish has only killed three people, every year hundreds are sent to the hospital when stung by this deadly creature.
